Description

This 6 storey building was formerly the Toronto Hamilton and Buffalo Railway Co. and was built in the 1920’s. Historical work on the existing building consisted of removal, restoration and reinstallation of the existing exterior stone cladding. This project included a complete renovation and reconfiguration of the building’s interior elements, as well as construction of a new GO Transit passenger terminal and a bus station.

Description

This project involved the initial removal of a significant portion of the existing Birchmount Garage’s Bus Storage facility and the reconstruction of a new 3 bay (17 lanes) bus storage and maintenance facility. Included in the scope of work was extensive HVAC modifications to the existing repair bays, the provision of new indoor bus storage bays (14 lanes) and a new service bay (3 lanes). The facility boasts 2 new automated bus wash systems, a 4 station industrial vacuum cleaning system and 8 new indoor bus refueling stations.

Description

This LEED Silver certified project comprised of renovations to the existing school house for the training of pilots and ground crews for the Canadian Air Force. This building consisted of a combination of two- and three-storey educational and office spaces constructed of cast-in-place concrete that adjoin high-volume hangar type spaces constructed of structural steel. It was designed and built to accommodate the latest in aircrew and technician simulation, making it one of the most advanced flight training facilities in the world. The building serves as the home of 426 TTS staff, whose job it is to train and prepare aircrew, technicians and aeromedical personnel.

This project was completed in phases in order to maintain uninterrupted operations of the facility.

Description

Located at 160 Central Park Drive, the new Bramalea City Centre Bus Terminal is a single storey terminal building comprising of two platforms, entrance canopy, underground services, civil work, mechanical works, electrical works, concrete paving, interior and exterior lighting for the terminal, street lighting, traffic signals, waste storage area, bike racks, interior site and exterior road modifications for bus operations and fire route, landscaping, architectural details, building structures, structures for accessibility into Brampton Civic Centre, and modifications to the east parking lot of the Brampton Civic Centre.

Work on this contract also included Owner and operational support infrastructure, including information technology, security systems (CCTV and access control), telephone service and cable service.

Description

The new Cambridge Centre Bus Terminal is located at 381 Hespeler Road. This terminal is one of the City of Cambridge’s primary transit hubs and is centrally located at the Cambridge Centre Mall. The new satellite transit station includes a Driver Relief Building, pedestrian islands that incorporate 10 bus stops interconnecting transit services from the Grand River Transit, the Region of Waterloo Rapid Transit System and ION Buses. Exterior landscaping, shelters and public art pieces make this terminal a welcoming, safe and inviting experience for all riders.

The project also included various roadway improvements, relocation of utilities and new service connections in order to accommodate the new facility.
