This 17,000sf, 4-storey, 56-bed facility is located on a long narrow lot at 348 Davenport Road in Toronto’s Annex neighbourhood. The Davenport Women’s Shelter is supported by local residents the Former Governor General Adrienne Clarkson and renowned author Margaret Atwood. Operated by the YWCA, this shelter provides unique assistance to homeless women and people who identify as transgender or gender non-binary by helping them find and keep a permanent home. Residents will receive services from case managers and housing workers tailored to their specific needs as well as increased access to health services.

This interior renovation project involved demolition of the existing spaces. Partial partition walls were created to allow for privacy of the occupants of the 56 beds. Included in the programming are new washrooms with showering areas, administrative areas, meeting rooms and lounge. Upgraded mechanical and electrical systems were required along with new security and lighting systems. A new steel framed canopy was also installed on the 4th floor terrace.[/vc_column_text][vc_custom_heading text=”Project Gallery” font_container=”tag:h3|text_align:left” use_theme_fonts=”yes”][vc_gallery type=”image_grid” images=”11114,11113,11161,11162,11160,11116,11117,11118″][/vc_column][/vc_row]

["post-11081","portfolio","type-portfolio","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","portfolio_category-health-care
["GET
